My mind plays trick on me when I'm alone
Along these steel-like pathway I see
A man as him
A woman as her

My mind does funny things when I'm not thinking
Gape at a joke, a smart anecdote
Missed not only a pun
But the whole conversation

My mind drifts away to who knows where
Who knows where, but here
It wanders on short trips without a return
Leaves the bear to an empty shell
Its eyes to repel
